New SAT Class
- Our basic curriculum prepares students for the SAT Reasoning Test, with additional workshops. Most high school students who enroll at EMA sign up for our basic set of two classes (critical reading, writing, and mathematics). Each of these four units meets weekly. This is the coordinated curriculum that has led our past students to such dramatic score improvements on the SAT Reasoning Test.
- Perfect for any student who wishes to take a New SAT test, this 24-hour course is tailored to teach students the essential skills and higher thinking to ace the SAT.
Middle and Upper School Class
- Want to begin preparing for the SAT, even at an early age? If so, then this class will provide the skills necessary to score high on the SAT as well as other exams.
- Like the New SAT course, the 9th-grade class offers a curriculum that is challenging and worthwhile to students.
- The EMA Reading and Writing Clinic is an engaging program designed to bolster students’ reading and writing skills. The program uses unusual Time for Kids articles to augment reading comprehension skills and stimulate high interest in non-fiction reading material. The writing component focuses not only on fundamental mechanics but also challenges students with a variety of writing assignments in the four primary writing genres: persuasive, narrative, visual presentation, and expository, all in a “Kid-friendly” format.
- The math clinic is composed of four classes: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. Each class presents the principles appropriate to a specific math level clear, easy-to-understand format. Students then apply these math principles to sharpen problem-solving skills and reinforce conceptual understanding at the same time.
